Clean as you Pack and Store all Pack Boxes Together - Much easier for the Removal Company

For anybody who has ever undertaken the task of moving house you will know how stressful it can be and, unless well organized, can rapidly degenerate into a farce! Whilst even the best house moves can be tiring, organization and planning really will make a difference between a smooth transition and one fraught with problems. Naturally, the very first job you need to do as soon as you know the date for your move is to organize a suitable removal company. I can’t stress the importance of this enough! Unless you book your removal company in good time you are not going to get the date you wanted or you may have to settle for another moving company that might not have such a good reputation. Take it from one who knows: the key to a successful move is to plan everything down to where you have packed the tea things – including the teaspoon [you wouldn’t believe the number of times I have had to stir my tea with the end of a biro!]
Planning your Move
As soon as your move has been confirmed make a list of all suitable removal companies and request a quote from each one. Once you are able to compare quotes you will know which moving company to arrange to give you an estimate. If the estimate is suitable and the terms and conditions of your chosen removal company are acceptable, you need to arrange to pack. This is a major factor of moving but, tedious and tiring though it is, this is something that has to be done. You need to make a list of items to go with you, those that need throwing out and those which could possibly be sold. There is also Freecycle where many unwanted items exchange hands free of charge.
The easiest way I have found is to focus on a single room at a time. Forget about all the other rooms; just concentrate on packing everything that you are taking with you in that one room. Arrange the items to be sold and others to either be given away or ditched. Once you have finished in there, stack the boxes neatly in one corner and get rid of everything in that room that you are not going to take with you. Now, shut the door on that room with a very satisfying click as the door latches on a job well done. Now it is time to move on to the next room, with the same procedure here. However, once the boxes have been filled, move each one of these into the first room to join those previously packed.
Clean as you Pack
Dispose of the rubbish you don’t intend to take with you. By now this room should be completely empty. Now is the time to bring in the cleaning items and really clean this room: this is one less room to clean before you leave. Carry on packing in this way, closing off cleaned rooms as you go if you can spare the space and storing each fully packed box in the same room with all the others. This makes the job of removal for the moving company when they eventually come along on the designated day to move you.
